OMSH Specializes in Teeth-In-A-Day: Our Surgeons are Highly Qualified

For a traditional implant, a minimum of three sittings spread out over six to nine months is necessary to ensure stability. However, the Teeth-In-A-Day procedure can be completed in one sitting in a fraction of the time. This Teeth-In-A-Day technique is particularly recommended if the patient wants to replace a front tooth immediately. The prosthesis will remain in place for at least six months and after that, the oral surgeon specialist may, depending on your particular circumstances, have arranged with you to return to the office to evaluate the possibility of providing you with a slightly different permanent prosthesis.

Who is Best Qualified to Provide this Specialized Technological Treatment as a Solution to You?

An OMS, or an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, is a specialist in the hard and soft tissues of the mouth and maxillofacial (jaws and face) region. An OMS provides somewhat of a variety of specialized treatment associated with defects or diseases as well as injuries concerning the face, head, jaws and neck.  Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons are required to complete a comprehensive and demanding residency program following their graduation from dental school (in the top of their class!). An OMS oral surgery program ranges from 4 to 6 years. The most highly acclaimed programs integrate a medical degree into the specialized training. AN OMS is best qualified to provide implant dentistry evaluations and recommendations as well as to perform the Teeth-In-A-Day or other appropriate treatment. Think about it. Ten years dedicated to the start of their profession.

And, another important aspect which separates Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons from any other dentist or specialist is the extensive training in the administration of anesthesia. An OMS is highly trained and qualified to offer patients the ability to have their surgical care performed comfortably with a variety of anesthesia options right in the office.

Our practice is one of the select few in the entire Houston Metro area to offer you complete dental implant treatment including:

  • Physical exam
  • Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scan to generate a 3D model of your jaws CT scans
  • Nonsurgical procedures in the same location
  • Working closely with your own dentist who knows you and who you have an already established relationship with in order to create an optimal and personalized treatment plan just for you        (We do not robotically recommend the same procedures for every patient!)

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Houston (OMSH) is ready and qualified to help you determine if Teeth-In-A-Day or another specialized treatment is right for you.
