What Is An Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon?
An Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (OMS) is a medical specialist who treats and performs surgeries on or in the oral (mouth) and maxillofacial (jaws and face) regions of your body. In order to qualify as an OMS, a candidate must undergo a rigorous 4 to 6-year training program after graduating from dental school. For instance, only those who graduate at the top of their class are selected for the program.
At OMSH, our specialists also receive extensive training in the administration of a variety of anesthesia. Patients coming to our facility have the assurance that we’ll always perform their surgery with the utmost skill, accuracy, and precision. Moreover, this provides the right kind of comfort and peace of mind they need. In addition, they know that all of the procedures are virtually pain-free and that they’ll receive aesthetically pleasing results.
