Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons must complete an arduous and comprehensive residency training program after they graduate from dental school at the top of their class. Oral Surgery programs range from four to six years and today the top programs intergrade a medical degree into the training. Very few specialists can stay they have dedicated ten years of training to their profession.
