Tooth Extraction Recovery
Following are a few more examples of what you should to in order to bounce back to your normal life faster:
- Keep gauze on the area for a few hours following the procedure. The less you interrupt the gauze, the faster the area will clot and you will stop bleeding.
- Apply ice to the area to help keep the swelling to a minimum.
- Do not rinse your mouth for 24 hours.
- Once 24 hours is up, you can rinse but very gently.
- Eat liquid/soft foods for the first day and slowly work your way up from there; it may take a few days to get back to a normal diet.
- Avoid any type of tobacco.
- Brush your teeth as normal, yet do not brush the area of extraction.
